USED THE ROOM FOR LIPOSUCTION RECUPERATION

Hi, this is just a head up on some issues that hosts in the airbnb community should be aware of. I had a female guess that rented the room and went ahead to have a liposuction done. SURPRISE! I had an Uber driver living her up in front of the door bleeding. Next thing I know she was expecting me to take care of her asking for sheets and to cover her up and to drop off her medication prescriptions. I dropped her medication and told her that I couldn’t take care of her, I proceeded by telling her that that was very inappropriate behavior and unconsidered. I contacted Airbnb and I didn’t cancel the reservation but, she is supposed to leave tomorrow by noon. Let’s see how that plays out. This happened in Miami which is hot for plastic surgery. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS. I wouldn’t want anyone to go through the same horrible experience.

@Ahylin0

well, if you live in liposuction area maybe you just found your niche :)) buy a few waterproof bed covers,  a lot of poly-cotton mix sheets (easy to wash and does not require ironing) some bleech for stains and charge double -tiple if they need your help and medications delivery :))))

How do you do that if the guess is one of those that won’t pay you for it and aimed at getting the most out of the Airbnb rental (room and post op care) all in one price. This was planned consciously. Regardless, that is not something I’m willing to do. It is already stated in the house rules from now on. Thank you for the comment.

@Ahylin0  I always ask my guests why they chose my place and why they are coming to my area.

This helps ensure a good fit but also to helps to alert you to any visits which wouldn't work for you or your listing.

Why not include something along these lines in your listing.

If you don't want guests who are recovering from surgery I would not this in your house rules.

Hi Helen.

Yes, that is definitely a most. I asked her but when she checked in (5pm in the evening) and surgery was at 7:30 am in the morning. I should have canceled the reservation right there. However, I don’t think she would have left. In a million years I would think someone would do that. This is something you get through experience and after been hosting for a while. For sure no body is getting in until I know the porpoise of their visit (learning through experiences).

 She knew she needed after care and she tried to get it through Airbnb for the price of the room. Her behavior through the whole thing was astonishing.

It has been included in the listing rules already. Thank you for your response.
