Hello everyone, i'm really new with this and english is not my first language so i desperately need help!
So me & my friends found a really cute apartment for our trip to Tokyo next year. We're ready to book it, contact the host, the place is available. Perfect! so we're headed to make a payment. On the payment page, the site asked us to fill in our payment method, so we entered my credit card's info and then proceeds. After awhile, we've got a notification that our payment is failed because of unauthorized verification. So the payment supposedly being blocked because the card could not be verified. I kinda expect there's verification message guide pop up when i clicked the proceed button. Okay, maybe i should contact the bank about it.
But,
a couple of minutes later. I got a message from my bank that the transaction is already completed, the payment is successful. My credit card already being charged by airbnb but my trip is not listed nor i received any email, and it clearly said that the payment FAILED because of my credit card hasn't been verified. How could this happen? If it failed, why i'm still being charged?! We asked airbnb team about it, all they said is based on their system my payment is being blocked. They asked me to show the proof message by the bank, after i showed it they only said that they will send it to their other team to investigate it.
But thankfully after i called the bank they let me to cancel the payment. But still, how could this happened? I really want to re-book again so i will not loose the place. But i'm still worried something like this will happen again. Has someone have the same experience like me?
