Unfair review

I had a guest staying for one night and he requested an additional two nights. I agreed and he wired money via Airbnb to me. In that space of time someone booked the suite for the night. I wrote to her that an unhappy event had occurred and it was booked. She said she could not wait for the refund to book somewhere else so I arranged for her to go to a place nearby which I thought was acceptable. She then wrote a scathing review about the other place but it reflects as a review of my place. I have responded but it is so vehement that I am sure it is going to put people off. Can I ask for it to be removed as it is not about my place at all. I thought the other place was fine to stay in and had good reviews. My mistake. Please can someone give me advice.

@Valerie579 you can call Airbnb and explain the situation, maybe they will take it down as third-party bookings are against the rules and the guest never saw your place. But... you kind of brought this on yourself.

Next time: if your guest wants to stay additional nights, they should request an alteration of their reservation within the Airbnb app or site. Then you will have the option to accept it, at which point the nights will be blocked and payment will be automatic. (Or you can initiate the alteration and they can accept it, same result.) If another guest books before that happens you should honor the new booking.

And you can always block dates in your calendar.

Thanks Lisa, I would not do the same again. I still dont understand how he paid as it seemed he paid but it did not reflect as a reservation, but it was done through airbnb system. The notification of payment came from airbnb. It also does not reflect in my transaction history. So I am more curious. I always ask guests to extend their stay as a reservation, but he did something else. Thanks again, Valerie
