Unverified Hosts

My boyfriend is planning a trip to Italy for work and booked an Airbnb for a couple days. The woman that he is renting the flat from  told him that her friend will be checking him in on his first day in her home. However, her friend is not verified as one of the hosts for the home on her profile. I just want to make sure that he will be safe, especially since he will be far from home. Is this normal for a host to do this, or should we have concerns? Thanks in advance for your input and help.

This is quite normal- many hosts have other jobs, live elsewhere etc and use friends, family, even agencies to hand over keys. Of more interest to me would be any previous reviews. But even if they don't exist as long as your host is corresponding with you, giving you the info you need then it should be fine

Thank you very much for your help!
