Verifications for HOST vs Guest

What is the difference in terms of setting up an account and verifying it for guest and host?  I noticed that guests are required to provide ID and selfie but hosts are able to list without verifying their account.   why is that?

Hi, nor guests nor hosts are required by airbnb to provide ID. But hosts can choose to book only to guests with verified ID, I do that. The same way guests can choose not to book with a host who doesn't have verified ID. It is a two way street.
