Very late show

We had a last minute booking for 2 guests last night and agreed check in would between 5 .00 and 6.00. After 6.00 we had a message from the guests saying that they decided to stay out and would be with us between 9.00 and 10.00. At 10.30 we then had another message from the couple saying that they missed the bus and would be with us at around 12.00 (midnight!) To save time and further delays we agreed to pick the guests up. Are there any rules that protect hosts against being messed around with guests turning up at all hours?? Where do we stand with this?

Thank you. 🙂

Well it is you who sets and decides the rules.

On your property you state ' check-in time ; anytime after 5pm'

These guests gave you the complete run around - so I would recommend you rethink what rules you want, state them clearly and stick by them.

Your listing says anytime after 5pm. You can indicate something like 5pm - 10pm.

This can be entered where you entered the check-in time.

If you wish you can indicate that a later check in can occasionally be agreed to against a fee of ...

and has to be arranged in advance.
