Good afternoon! I recently installed a Ring video doorbell and my guest that checked in today covered it as they were entering my house. Before they did, I counted 8 people that entered. The reservation was for 4. I’m concerned that they are going to have a large party even though I stated on my profile that no parties are allowed.
should I text the renter and remind her that no parties are allowed? I don’t want them to get mad at me and trash my house.
contact Airbnb ASAP and tell them to cancel this reservation then go there and tell them to leave the house. If they don't want to call the police to escort them (their reservation is canceled so they are trespassing) Don't let ABB rep convinces you to keep the reservation.
If you have any doubts about it, read what happened 2 days ago: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/orinda-shooting-fifth-person-dead-halloween-party-shooting-airbnb-renta...
Good luck
Also consider installing a CCTV Camera which is directly pointed at the entrance of your home- meaning that even if they cover the “ring” system it’s recorded and unable to tampered with.
if you do this- do make sure you absolutely disclose this in your listing!!
please do as suggested above! Good luck to you 🙂
@Teresa1291 I would keep my mouth shut! You have not disclosed the RING doorbell with video in your listing. If you call the guests out on this, AirBNB could very well delist you if the guest calls to complain that you were watching them.
And add the RING to your listing so in the future if you see more people arriving than are on the reservation, you have some recourse.
Also, as an aside, your listing is really, really sparse with almost no rules and no description of what kind of guests you are hoping will rent your home. You have a no party rule, but not a "only people on the reservation allowed" rule. I don't have a whole house listing, so am not your best resource for this. Others will, no doubt, chime in.
I have the same problem but it is dogs that renters bring that have not been approved. Any advice?
