I just got this message. What in the world? Is it someone from airbnb? I dont get what or who they are.
whats up how r you doing I've seen your YOUR NEW COUNTRY HOME! page... good home. this is so accurate! I'm about to edit and retouchf your airbnb photos and write unique tailormade airbnb listing.Follow up the link: host◆gigz◆m
Make sure and report it through the request Airbnb locks those accts and removes them from the system.
I had a guest with a raging party of over 20 people that started at 1:30 am in which I had to ask him to have the guests leave at 3:30 am when I was awakened by his guests drinking my ringing the video doorbell. I received this on my listing next door in the form of an inquiry as I had referenced owning the place next door “Yo Whats happening I have found your Hot tub-Near mouth of Big & Little Cottonwood Cny page on AirBnb... You have pretty good home, 5-stars! I'm about to edit and retouch your airbnb photos and write an irresistible airbnb listing.check out the lіnk: host▪gigz▪me”
The recordings on my video doorbell show this is exactly how they talked. At 5 am I received this on the listing they were staying in “Heyyy How r things I've seen your Near mouth of canyon ski resorts with hot tub! page.. Was pleasantly surprised haha, home is awsome tho! I am 'bout to make your photos more interesting and write unique tailormade airbnb listing.Fіnd the lіnk: host◈gigz◈me”.
I’m convinced it’s them that are creating these messages. They are local to the Salt Lake City area. My place is in Cottonwood Hts and I noticed one of you mention Ogden. On the video doorbell they were talking with this type of language saying things like “we gotta get these n****** to go home. Calling each other “Yo”, greeting with “what’s happenin”. Both profiles were made today with verified email addresses only. Airbnb shouldn’t allow these to be made without another form of verification.
I don't think it was your guests, just a coincidence. I just got 3 similar messages this morning and I've had them previously. They've come in as a inquiry. It's obviously from another country because of the poor English skills. Each time I've reported the user to Airbnb. I think it's also important to respond to the inquiry otherwise your response times could be affected. I just responded "This is against Airbnb rules"
Obviously a scam, report to Air bnb!
I think we all know it’s a scam and it’s been reported to Airbnb.
We received a similar post, but AirBNB support was super unhelpful. They told us to decline it if we did not want to accept the reservation request and sent us a link for feature requests.
Our acceptance rate is good, so I guess that's okay, but it wasnt a very encouraging phone call. I have a sneaking suspicion it's a phishing link, and it's clearly something that's propagating through the platform.
I just got two of these in a row and have reported both users.
I got two of these kind of messages... I reported them both... they were 3 days apart from two different people, asking to book on the same day.. message read " HIEEEE how are u doing I just visited your apartment, with entry AirB-n-b page.. Nice home, very good!!! I love this I am 'bout to edit your photos professionally and improve and optimize your airbnb listing. Follow up link: host-gigz-me"
Anyone one else get this... It's kinda scary First person was a "Sarah" 2nd was a "Chad"
It was just a matter of time before this started happening. The shame is tge ppl who need to know to NOT CLICK THE LINK are not the type to read over this stuff to find out. Why cant these obviously talented (not easy to be a hacker) ppl get a real job using their abilities to help. A job is a job and being a hacker is still work so they are not doing less just less good.
@Deanne26 True. But these people are not just hackers, they are scammers. They would likely be scammers in some way whether they were hackers or not.
I just received it too.
We have received 5 of those in the last hour. These people have nothing else to do! Bunch of spammers! Airbnb needs to strengthen their spamming security!!
Got a similar post and figured it was a scam so called Airbnb. They called me back and said it was their people. When I questioned the strange icons in the address and some outher words they translated them and made it sound OK.
I emailed them thru Airbnb account and asked for an explanation. I too think it is a scam.
