So I have encountered several Airbnb's that require cash payment for utilities, and things like fridge, bed, soap, shampoo.
How do you know if it is included or not?
I have stayed at places where all this was free, even though it was not specified in the ad. Internet is the only thing I often see listed. I never see "electricity and water included with this rental".
It is getting annoying. I mean, hotels do not charge for water!
Here is a quote from Airbnb Help, @Abby38: "Offline or cash payments are a violation of our Terms of Service, and can result in removal from Airbnb."
That comes up when you type "cash" into the Help search bar.
A host can charge for certain extras through the resolution centre, I understand, but not if it is not stated upfront on the listing page.
A good host will not surprise you with any cash requests. If a bad host does, just say no. If they insist, give Airbnb a call.
Just curious - someone charged a cash fee to use the bed? Where in the world was that?
Philippines. Apparently a lot of Airbnb are just empty square boxes. No bed, fridge, A/C, fan, microwave, shower, nothing. I find that strange.
Just a minute! Sorry I fell for that question. You joined in November, @Abby38, and have no reviews. Have you really stayed anywhere? Is your question hypothetical?
I have stayed all over the world over the years. Is there some stigma against the 11th month? I was not even aware when I signed up. I have loads of reviews! How would you even know?
