I want to understand something. In a few weeks i will stay at place that have a strange policy of cleaning, you dont have a cleaning fee but you have leave the place clean like you wanted to recieve it. It is OK! Only if the owner cleaning too before and afte the guests. But here , it looks like nobody cleaning except the guests! It is one of many reviews
“The apartment was dirty with sticky work surfaces in the kitchen, floor not vacuum cleaned and sticky with spilled drinks, bathrooms grimy with dried blood on the toilet seat and toothpaste and soap in the sink, floor very grimy.”
So my question is, what is the policy of airbnb? Did the owner must clean after each guest, or the owner can do what ever he want and set his own rules?
I am not sure if it is specifically written anywhere but it is common that guests tidy up and light clean after themselves but then a host or cleaners do the proper and detailed cleaning before the next guest.
This listing will soon be suspended anyway because it's rating will fall below the minimum.
Owners can set their own rules, but it sounds like this one won't be in business long, @רומן0 , since his reviews are bad.
I don't have a cleaning fee, and I ask my guests to leave the space as they found it, but they cannot possibly clean and prep to a standard that would be acceptable to the next guest. I, of course, have to clean after/before every guest.
Why do you want to stay at a place that has such terrible reviews? Is it very, very cheap? If that is the reason, and you are willing to put up with the medical risk of dried blood, etc., then I suppose it is fine, but I would be booking somewhere else if I were you.
I only found in the Terms of Service in section 11 (Quote):
11.1 As a Guest, you are responsible for leaving the Accommodation (including any personal or other property located at the Accommodation) in the condition it was in when you arrived
@רומן0 This sounds like a place to avoid. I don't know why you booked it with those kinds of reviews- maybe contact Airbnb to say you're concerned about arriving to a filthy place and see if they can find you another place.
Yes, guests are expected to clean up after themselves, wash your dishes, tidy up, wipe the counters and fridge and stove, sweep the floor, but not to do heavy duty cleaning- that is the host or his cleaners' job.
Some hosts ask guests to start a load of bedding and towels wash before they leave, take out the garbage, etc., it totally depends on what the host has stated in the listing description and made clear through messages with guests.
