Why do I have a confirmation for a quest that I didn't approve?

I just received congratulations for a confirmation on a guest that I didn't approve.  He has no profile, no reviews and is new to Airbnb. Obviously I'm concerned.  I'd rather know more about a perspective guest and I usually get asked to pre-aprrove. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this?  And why this happened?

KiaOra Frank, I see you have instant booking switched on which to my understanding means that a guest doesn't have to be pre approved.
