Yes of course; I ask every guest who books, it is key to understanding the marketing of my listing @Ruth406

Thank you.  I haven’t asked any of them yet but I will start.

@Helen3   I'm curious when in the conversation do you ask?  Via the platform when they book, or in person or as part of the final message?  I always mean to ask but somehow it never seems to fit with the flow of the check in meet and greet.

@Mark116

I am curious too 🙂

I always ask them when they book what is the purpose of coming to the area and how many people will be joining them.

@Brittani7  I don't think that was the OP's question. She is wanting to ask why, specifically, they booked her listing rather than another so she can get an idea of what is attracting guests to her place.

@Ruth406 I don't make a point of deliberately asking guests why they chose my place over the many others in the area, but quite often I've been told that it was my reviews and my detailed  description of what I offer that made them make the decision to stay here.  Several recent guests have surprised me by saying "Oh, it's better than the photos!" when I thought my photos were pretty good and accurate.

I sent messages to guests who have future bookings asking them what made them choose my home.  They were all very happy to respond.  I received a variety of reasons.  The main ones were reviews, location, cleanliness, and how I presented my listing.
