Hi, the number of views my house has been going up in relatively large numbers, how do I know if these are correct or there is a glitch? Also, can I check and see if my place is active and if a booking request will come through as I haven't had one in a long time and am worried my listing isn't coming up in the correct place or there might be a problem. Many thanks, Todd
Your home is quite beautiful, @Todd11. I see that you have relatively small windows of availability for your place which will affect the quantity of booking requests. I see that 30 travelers have saved your space. What that means, is that the traveler is looking around and your place meets criteria but the traveler is not ready to commit. I would think that travelers would book pretty far in advance for the high season as your place is a destination place.
Have you looked at your stats on your dashboard? If you are getting veiwings (not necessarily saved to wish list) but no bookings, you should look at your competition to see if your price is competitive for this time of the year. If you are a seasonal destination, you need your booking window to be at least 6 months, I think, because people make long range plans. For example, I can get booking requests for a year in advance because people are making plans to attend one the major events in my area.
BTW, in my opinion, your security deposit is a bit low. Even good guests can cause considerable damage to a large home. Also, it sends a signal to potential guests that you will seek reimbursement for damage. Just a thought
Hi Linda,
Thanks for your reply. All of what you are saying makes sense, thanks. I guess my concern is we already had bookings by this time last year for the same price as we are listed for, I was just wondering if there was a problem with our listing coming up, obviously not.
Thanks for the advice on the security deposit too, I'll adjust.
Thanks,
Todd
