calendar and cancellation

calendar and cancellation

I am new to Air B & B and have just opened my calendar to 12 months in advance. I had a booking today for Memorial weekend with out a 3 night minimum(uggh) and smart pricing did not change pricing for that weekend. (although smart pricing did change the dates around that weekend). This is one of my busiest weekend in Leavenworth. I snet a request to the guest with a price change and extra date with no response? What is the worst that can happen? I would rather use it than lose out on 50% of the income for that weekend.

@Michelle1426You can't charge a guest more to stay with you once they have completed their booking. You can set you pricing for holiday weekends well in advance: I set my pricing a year or more in advance.

If you cancel, the dates will be blocked as a penalty by Airbnb.

Personally, I would treat this as a learning experience and move on. Most of us have been there at one time or another: we forget to set a minimum stay for certain dates, or forget to update pricing, but it's too late at this point.

Like @Alexandra316 said (and assuming this was an IB), suck it up and move on. As  well as having the dates blocked, you'll get one of those less-than-pretty cancellation dings on your page, othewise known as 'the kiss of death'.

@Michelle1426, no, no, no. This is bad host behaviour. Imagine yourself as a guest in the same position - you innocently book a place for a night or two, and then the host sends you a request asking you to stay an extra night and pay more! If you cancel the guest, the dates will remain blocked, which would be more than fair in this case. As @Gordon0 and @Alexandra316 have said, suck it up and move on. In future, make sure you set up your booking availability well in advance.

Yep. You’re stuck. It’s a learning process for sure.
