cancelations

I have cancelled a booking at my end(as a host) and now the date is permanantly blocked.  How do I unblock that on the calender?

@Kim433, if you as the host cancelled a booking, then the dates will remain blocked and you cannot unblock them. It is one of the many penalties assessed against a host for cancelling a booking.

Why did you cancel the booking?

Thanks Matthew,

I thought if you were and instant booking host you wernt penalised though?

It says this is on the airbnb website

@Kim433, you can make a cancellation without penalty if you are on Instant Book, but you should contact AirBnB support to do so.

You can still contact them about this cancellation; explain the circumstances of why you cancelled and they will tell you if it can be a penalty-free cancellation.

In the future, to make it easier on yourself, please contact AirBnB support first and let them know why you want to cancel before you do anything with the booking.

Please be nice to the AirBnB support person who is helping you! They will be making the judgement as to whether it can be penalty-free.

Thanks again Matthew how do I contact the Airbnb support? I've searched the website but i keep getting referred to help pages that are existing. Doesn't seem to be a contact number or email to contact an actual person to ask? Or I can't find it. Do you have any tips here? Thanks kim

@Kim433, to contact AirBnB:

Go to your Host Dashboard and choose the "Help" page.
At the bottom of the "Help" page is a "Contact us" button.
Use the "Contact us" button to reach AirBnB directly.

Or, just use this: https://www.airbnb.com/help/contact_us

Thanks again Matthew however the contact us button seems to just direct you to a help centre which just has topical articles not an actual person who you can email or talk to.  Any other suggestions?

cheers Kim

HI Kim!

I sometimes have trouble using Airbnb help to find a way to call so I usually end up Googling a phone number list like this:

http://www.airbnbsecrets.com/airbnb-phone-number/

There's no number for my country (Thailand) so I usually call the US number but sometimes I call Hong Kong or the UK.

Good luck!

thankyou Ill try that idea
