The host cancelled our reservation without an explaination, even when I called him. It happened right before we started on a journey, it messed up our plan.
What is more, it said there is a $33 credit for next reservation, but I did not find any credits.
It;s a real pain - but both guests and hosts can cancel at last minute under extenuating circumstances - that might include (for example) a serious illness or death in the host family. In general a host would never cancel last minute like this and it suggests given the communication that AirBnB agree they can cancel (they don't have to tell you why the host is no longer able to accommodate you - which again may seem harsh, but it could be for a very private reason). You should see any credit they have given you applied to your next booking.

This is a pain as you said, we could not find a place with the same location and parking. But we did find another stay from Airbnb. During this process, we did not see any credits.
@Dewei0 I'm very sorry to hear that the host cancelled your reservation and I'm glad to see you have found another place to stay.
The credit given to you as a result of the cancellation is not a separate credit (like a Travel Credit). It will apply if the new reservation costs more than the original, cancelled reservation. If the new reservation is equal to or less than the one cancelled, the credit will not be applied.
Here's more information on how this type of credit works:
We were cancelled at the last moment. Airbnb refused to tell us the reason but claimed that they accepted the host's explanation. I later found out that the host claimed a death in the family and that they were no longer going to withdraw their property from Airbnb.
I later discovered that there was no death in the family and that the property continued to be let.
I told this to Airbnb but they could not have cared less and closed the conversation thread
The re-booking (Airbnb had nothing comperable) cost me quite a bit of money. I want to claim these costs as the cancellation was a breach of contract.
Trying to find out how to do this-or even a UK mailing address for Airbnb has, thus far, been impossible. I would appreciate any help in knowing how to deal with this. Ideally, a mailing address for legal papers would be great
