@Roger21 The majority of hosts would not want their address known to guests before a booking is confirmed, nor their personal email address or phone number. Guests asking to preview a property is suspect- they could be staking it out for a burglery, or simply wanting to make some private deal with the host to circumvent paying Airbnb booking fees. Hosts aren't interested in this type of behavior and don't want strangers knocking on their door, wasting their time, expecting to be given access to a property without having actually booked it. It's a security issue. Phone numbers and email addresses can be freely exchanged after a booking is confirmed.
If you really want this preview to happen, you could get around it by asking the guest to book one night in the near future, if they are looking to book long-term and want to make sure it will be a good fit. You could always deduct that one night from payment for a long-term booking.
If you aren't happy with the way Airbnb handles the withholding of personal info, then perhaps this platform isn't the right one for you. I imagine you are in the minority of hosts who have an objection. Most appreciate it.
