My guest has just notified me they will be leaving a day earlier. Do I need to do anything, or should they just cancel that day not required?

The guest should contact Air BNB about the change in the booking.  You do nothing.  You also do not agree with the change.  Air BNB will then process the change according to your cancellation policy.
