You'll have to research the laws in your area on whether Airbnb and/or subletting is legal.

could airbnb confirm if it it is legal ot not hosting in Paris - and if so in witch conditions?

Airbnb will not provide you with legal advice.  This is something you need to work out with a private attorney and personal research. Airbnb is an online platform which allows people to rent rooms.

A quick Google search returned these two articles for you to start looking into your own information: http://www.thelocal.fr/20160113/paris-cracks-down-on-illegal-airbnb-flats

if you can copy paste the wall street journal will be appraciated - thanks a lot

can a person working for Airbnb assist me on this?

If you dont live in the flat, short term location (less than one year) is subject to large fine. If you live in the flat you can rent it up to 4 month per year. This rule applies in paris and some other large french city.

I add to Hervé's reply that you must obtain a registration number at the "Mairie de Paris" (city of paris). For the time being it's free and the rental is limited to 4 months. The concil of Paris may reduce dramatically this limit within few months.

You must also check that nothing in the own regulation of the building forbids this activity (the regulation = réglement de copropriété)?

Here is the official link of the city of Paris with the regulation https://www.paris.fr/meubles-touristiques

Have a good reading.

hI,

as far as I know, yes legal if you

1- declare money earn or create a LMNP (some kind of company for renting flat)

2- pay the visitor tax ("taxe de séjour")

but ... in the near future (2018) you will be able to host no more thant 60 days a year.

thanks,

In very short - short term rentals are illegal in Paris unless you have a permit, and permits are near impossible to get. If you get caught renting illegaly, there are heavy fines. And if you try, you are likely to be reported by your neighbours.

airbnb or other rental platforms cannot advise you on local laws and regulations, that is your responsability.

There is plenty of info on-line, google is your friend.
