how do I set up 10% off for booking 3 or more days during a particular date range?

I've read everything I can find on the how to info and in following the directions it says to go and click on things that don't exsist on those pages.  How can get help to create this offer?

Hello @Aileen19,

Your question reminded me that I had to activate host tools to cause the "Create new rule-set" button to appear. The process does refer to multiple listings but, even though I have only one, it still worked for me. It does mean, though, that your default calendar page will then be the multi calendar view which shows the dates all in a line. You can click on the listing title to see the full month at a time view of the calendar.

I found it by going to the link below.

https://www.airbnb.com/hosttools

I scrolled down to the "Work the way you want" section and clicked on "Use the tools now" link. On the next page I scrolled to the "reservations" section and clicked on "Use the multi-calendar".

Even though I have only one listing the calendar then showed rule-sets as in the screen shot I sent before.

You can then click on "Create a new rule-set"

Hope this helps and sorry for not remembering the step I had to go through.

Steve.

Hello @Aileen19,

One way to do that is to use the rule set feature to create a 3 night discount rule and apply that rule to the desired dates.

I've found that the following procedure doesn't work properly in Firefox but does in Chrome. I don't know if it works in Safari.

Click on "Host" and then on "Calendar". Then click on the "Create a new rule-set" button in the bottom right.

Then, in the "Pricing" section, click on "Customise" for "Lenght-of-stay discounts". Click in the "Add a custom discount" box and select 3 nights. Then add your 10% discount in the "3-night discount" box.

Now give the rule a name, such as "3 night discount", in the "Rule-set-name" box at the top and click on "Save".

You must now assign this rule set to the range of dates you have in mind.

Go back to your calendar and click on the first date. In the box on the right set the end date in the "Selected dates" box and scroll down to the "Rule-sets" box and choose your 3 night discount rule. Click on "Save".

For example if your 3 night minumum starts on the 27th of August you must set the end date as the 30th as thet'll be the 3 nights.

Steve,

I appreciate you answering and sending a screen shot.  When I follow the steps you have listed my calendar does not have any rule set buttons.  I tried it in MS Edge and in Chrome with no luck.

I see in your screen shot that you have a box open that says Rule Sets & create rule set button.  When I select dates a box comes up but it just has Selected Dates, pricing and a save or cancel button at the bottom.  I don't know how you get the rule-set box to come up???

Thanks, Aileen

I've created two different rule sets for filling in gaps between reservations: one is 1-night allowed, the second is 3-night minimum. They don't set a particular discount but rather I manually make the pricing be what I think is appropriate for that date range (we're fairly seasonal here).

I like the functionality for changing from standard to something different as the calendar is filling up.

What I want is there to be a regular rate posted for each night, but an offer for 10% discount if they book 3 or more nights.

Thank you so much Steve.  Yes, sounds like that would be an important step.  🙂  Too bad Airbnb doesn't have that info with their instructions on how to create a rule set.  I will work on getting that set up on my site.
