how do we get paid? Can we have payments go to our checking account?

We just signed up to host. So, I need to know how to set up where money can be paid to us; like our checking account.

You will be paid according to your payout preference that you chose when you signed up to host.  The guest pays upfront, and then Airbnb holds the money until the trip. They send the payout 24 hours after check in, and it arrives in your account 1-2 business days later.  You can have direct deposit.  Just use that as your preferred payout method.
