Booked an entire apartment with kitchen. When checked in noticed that there is no fridge in the kitchen. The host saying: "I did not mention that there is one, I wrote that there is kitchen with an oven and dishes". Doesn't "kitchen" mean that there must be a fridge in it?
@Polina46 Yes, I should think the definition of kitchen would include a fridge. If you post the URL for this listing, we could check whether the host made it clear that there wasn't a fridge. If it's not made clear in the listing info, you could contact Airbnb and apply for a partial refund.
I would rather have a fridge than an oven. That is really bizarre.
Kitchen is defined as merely ''Space where guests can cook their own meals''
In the additional amenities section where a host can tick from a selection of available items, a refrigerator can be listed here. It's not a given for a kitchen to have a refrigerator as an essential.
Technically the host is correct, but I guess this omission will leave a lot of guests disappointed.
Thank you, ladies, for you input! We discussed the situation with the host again and he decided to buy a fridge ASAP because we are staying in his apartment for almost one month.
Well done! You probably saved his listing from review doom over time. Enjoy wherever you are!
