payments

Hi,

I am new to Airbnb.

I had assumed that Airbnb collects money from all my guest bookings and then sends it to me net of commission, so therefore the issue of money should not arise when the guest arrives

......however one of my guests have asked me when they made the reservation request if they can pay me directly. This throws doubt on my above assumption. Are there instances where Airbnb does not collect the money and I have to collect it instead? And if so how do I know?

Thanks for any info on this.

Marg

You are correct: AirBnB takes full payment for the reservation at the time of booking  and then passes that to you approx 24 hours after your guest has checked in.

If a guest asks to pay in cash when they arrive, say no. All transactions must be via AirBnB and in that way you are protected if there are issues.
