Hi i preapproved a booking and now the dates need to be changed. The booker is havign issues so I cancelled the bookign alttogether to see if that would work. It is still saying his orginal dates and he cant change them. I now want to completely cancel them, and then his wife is going to do it on her account. They are in china so it is proving slightly difficult for him as he has to do it on his phone because of the interent restrictions over there..Can anyone advise how i can actually delete/cancel the whole reservation on my end so they can re apply for new dates??? please and thnkyou

You can't, if you do your calendar will become blocked for those dates and you will also have to pay a fine. The guests will receive travel credits to make up for the bad host who cancelled on them. No excuses will be entered into, Airbnb does not reverse this ever. Let the guest cancel if they like, but whatever you do, don't cancel.

 

You can remove preapprovals, btw.

I remember there being an option for the guest to change the dates without cancelling. The guest has to request for new dates from within the Airbnb platform. There is such function, i've gotten my guest to do that before but i don't quite remember how because it was done on their end. Probably you could check the help section in Airbnb or write to them for answers.

I am not sure I understand your dilemma. A pre-approval is not a booking - you can remove the pre-approval at any time and you can also decline the request and your potential guests can start again with the new and amended dates.

A firm booking will show in "my bookings" and you can change the dates from there.  An email will be sent to your guests for acceptance.
