refund

I had to cancel a reservation, and I spoke to my host and he said he would refund me even though there was a strict refund policy. The problem is, the card I gave him to reserve the room, has been hacked, not by him by the way! SO the CC company gave me a new card to replace it! How will he be able to refund me? Will the Air BnB team see that he is trying to refund a card that doesn't exsist? How do I get a refund now?

I would have thought you would have to update your AirBnb account with the new card numbers and then AirBnb will refund you, having obtained authorisation from the host.The host will then have the amount debited from their host account. I have never refunded a guest directly, it should all be done through the AirBnb system.
