I just read in the web that airbnb is illegal in singapore.

so i wonder before my next trip to singapore, if it is safe to book a room on airbnb or better going to a hotel ?!

i am confused how you can contact airbnb about this, so maybe someone has insights on how to proceed.

Thanks

@Robin176 The first thing do to is to contact the host where you would like to stay in singapore. If someone is listing his/her property on Airbnb it means that booking is still possible even if it is illegal by their law. It isnt your problem to worry about this as the host takes all responsibilities. Ask the hosts if it is safe to book their property without getting any problem from their local authorities and you can also check the review left by other guests who recently stayed at those properties. If you want to safe some cash and get a real home in Singapore book on Airbnb. Good luck!!!

@Robin176 Here is a hotline number of Airbnb in Singapore give them a call. Singapore / 新加坡: +65 6622 7306 or 1800 723 1238 (toll-free).

It's technically illegal to list your apartment on AirBnB for less than 6 months stays (HDB public housing) or 3 months (private housing).

AirBnB has detailed the Singapore laws here. https://www.airbnb.com.sg/help/article/858/singapore

This doesn't stop people from listing places but the risk is both on yourself and the host.
