Potential guest booked another site, that other site said room was not available, she booked with me. Then she saw she was booked in two places so original place was available but sent wrong message. Now she wants a refund of Airbnb service fee. Is there any resolution?

She needs to call Airbnb. You don’t control the service fee.

Thank you for your input!

Airbnb policy benefits only the hosts...we booked Airbnb in Manila but apparently through some error on an account not used since 2017 resulted in double booking...we alerted the 2nd host but because of Airbnb policy to not allow the host to cancel and at least try to re rent ...his unit was vacant all the time so we paid twice...Airbnb won't take responsible for this...Airbnb is only a tool using hosts places at their expense...Airbnb must help guests too as we help make it viable to hosts...Airbnb policies only biased to hosts and not guests...we notified Airbnb of the error and the host in Manila could have re rented but Airbnb did not return my urgent request until after our 17 days stay in another place...the other host who refuses to cancel us because Airbnb policy the if he cancelled his 17 days would be blocked Airbnb.. this policy has to change because it benefits the hosts and hosts don't need to mitigate the loss of rents...jmho

@Yonge-And-Nerissa0 and how exactly does it benefit the host if the result of cancelation is blocking the nights and using revenue? This benefits the guests because it prevents the hosts canceling reservations and making the guests deal with refunds and searching for other places last minute and more expensive.

@Yonge-And-Nerissa0

You booked two places instead of one. You have the right to cancel one of those if you wanted at the place you booked them at. You didn't. Why is that the host's fault? A Host cancelling a reservation penalises the Host, so why should a Host be penalised for your mistake?

Were you to have cancelled with AirBnb you would not have needed to pay twice. Why did you not do that?

As @Christine615 says... It is Airbnb who needs to sort this out, not you. Inform your guest of this but I wouldn't hold out any hope of any refund as the guest is deciding to cancel with AirBnb after believing her previous booking with the other agent had failed.
