Cancellation Policy Not Fair for Homeowners

Airbnb's cancellation policy that they give for those of us who typically rent for 7 days are less is unaccaptable compared to VRBO/Homeaway.  Today I received a 7 day cancellation and received only 50 percent refund.  This was a date that I had two people vying for.  Now I'll be unable to fill it.

With VRBO, I have the ability to set up no refunds within 30 days.  This gives me the ability to try to book this block of time in a month vs 7 days.

Homeaway/VRBO has it right on this one.  They protect the homeowners.

There is a small change now with regard to cancellation - on the actual listing page they show cancellation policy: Strict (for example) and then they articulate what that means.   This is new, it used to only mention the level (flexible, moderate, strict) with no explanation.

@sharon  remember seeing an option for "superstrict" that was available to certain hosts.  You might inquire with airbnb support if that's an option for you.
