Good morning Airbnb Hosts or Community, I'm a fairly new Host as of July and only hosted 4 guest. I was wondering does Airbnb look at Guest reasonings for cancelling? I just had a Guest cancel on me, because he said he did not know if my posting was fake and that my last name (McCalebb) resembles his first name (Caleb). But clearly I have good reviews from my 3 previous Guests. He tied up those dates for almost 2 weeks. Is this just something I should get use to?
Get used to it - have a moderate or strict policy so that you may at least get something if it's a last minute cancellation. Happens all the time in the travel business.

i was on a trip, just landed, and much to my surprise
i see a message from airbnb saying that THEY cancelled reservation on my behalf ?
now
the guest send me a text asking where to get the keys
when theres only one place in my compuond, the reception desk
now i have no more messages from the guest
my onsite manager has no idea what happened
do i get a penalty for this ?

your guest can cancel ON YOUR BEHALF only if he sends you a request to cancel on your behalf and you clicked on "agree" button.
(Your guest can cancel on his behalf without your approval and be refunded according to your cancellation policy )
If your guest has cancelled then those days should be opened in your calendar.
