Hoping someone is able to help. My situation is we got a booking for a week from 20 Aug to 27 Aug but I couldnt use my login for some reason so did not approve it in time. Subsequently we received a booking for 25 Aug to 27 Aug which we approved in error and then declied immediately as we would like to make a special offer to the first booking who are staying longer. Now when we go to make the special offer it is saying that our property is booked for the two nights so unable to send the request. Please help ASAP as we are not booked and have the first group wanting to confirm. Thanks Carol.
Gee whiz Carol, you have got yourself into a pickle here. As @Andrea9 says you must immediately contact Airbnb on +64 4 4880 888 and explain the circumstances here.
Your problems are,
A/ your response time is going to take a hit because you did not respond to the initial request in the allotted 24 hours.
B/. You first of all said you approved the shorter booking in error which means it was at some point a confirmed reservation which you subsequently cancelled.....even though you did it quickly, you nevertheless cancelled, 'declined' as you put it! You will therefore have to deal with a raft of penalties! You will loose your superhost status for 12 months. Those dates will remain blocked on your calendar preventing you from taking another booking (which is what you are seeing)! An automated response will be placed on your reviews to indicate that you cancelled a confirmed guest reservation, and you will cop a monetary fine to be taken from your future hostings!
This is why it is important that you contact ABB right away and see if they can sort this out for you and relieve you of those penalties.

@Carol274 Give Airbnb a call and tell them about your situation but i have doubts that they will cancel the second reservation, if the person was able to book better take them as you never know the first guests may have already found another listing. Next time be more attentive to reguests and it better if you enable the sms notification so that when someone will send you a request you will get an sms. Good luck!!!
@Carol274 , your calendar looks wide open, nothing is blocked. So perhaps you got it resolved? just have the first group send a new request, then do your special offer. Hope they are still interested, good luck!
