I have two rooms that guests stay in. My current guest may want to stay next week but I have a one nighter coming for one night next week. My bigger room is available so I wanted to message and ask if she would mind being upgraded to that room to free up the other.
Can I change her booking to another room if she agrees freeing up the room she booked for my current guest or how would we go about this so she doesn't get charged cancellation and nor do I?

I want to do this too! I don't think Airbnb allows this with their current interface. One way is to alter the current booking and to "block" out the dates on the other listing. However if it is past a certain time, you may not be able to alter the current booking to end "today" so the alternative way is to call into Airbnb for help.
Yep, go to the message history of the person who is staying one night. Click change/cancel reservation, change reservation and on the bottom, click the drop down of the current room and switch it to the other room. Verify the money amount doesn't change as well. Of course, contact the guest first and ask them if they wouldn't mind the reservation change.
Once you send the updated change, the guest will need to accept and the room should be open.
Hi, I have 8 rooms in my home, and for over 5 years I am asking Airbnb to fix the system. and now the system is completely broken. For the first five years I was able to make all the changes my guests ask me for, with no problems, as long as the guest had not checked in yet. I still can change the room, but I am not able to change the dates. The last time a guest ask for one more night, the system was charging the guest for $ 50,00 per night $ 500,00 for one more night. Last month I like to give a guest 2 more nights for free in order for the guest not to pay the bed tax in the city of Cleveland. And again the system was not working and was ready to refund the guest $ 400,00 of my money. How is something like this passable. It is very important to me that all my guests are comfortable, today I have the worst case. 2 guests arrive yesterday and are very happy, the only problem the rooms are on the second floor and both guests are having open haerth surgery and very concerned about the stairs. I am happy to please my guests and move them to the first floor. In order to do so I had to blook the calendar for the first floor appartment and moved both guests. Now the system will not release my 2 rooms on the second floor and I loose money by blocking the 3 bedroom apartment and I am loosing money on my 2 rooms on the 2nd floor. Can anybody please tell me the COMMON SENSE
of all this. I am no computer expert, but I know that any good computer programmer is able to fix this simple but important problem for all of us. As hosts we need to be able to controll our rooms and calendar.
Please, help to fix the problem
