Cleaning Fees for longer stays

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH CLEANING FOR LONGER STAYS?

I'm a little frustrated because I keep my price point low and offer a very modest discount for longer stays. but then I have to clean the bathroom and freshen things up every single weekend, and I don't get a fee for that. I'd like to suggest that ABnB institute a weekly cleaning fee option that gets tagged on to longer stays. When my housekeeper cleans, it costs me extra money.

Totally agree there should be an option for weekly cleaning - however in the meantime put it in your description that longer stays will have an extra $xx added per week to cover change of linen and cleaning.

Also for longer stays, my cleaning service deposes of trash. Extra fee for longer stays for freshening the linens and remove trash from the property would be helpful.

I agree. I have  monthly stays on a regular and I offer weekly cleaning which is not covered by the price when booked , so Help with this would be great.

I just factor in the cost of weekly cleans and trash disposal into the price and adjust the weekly/monthly discount rates. Fyi, we include guest spaces when we do our weekly vaccuming, provide clean towels as needed and change sheets/bedding every 2 weeks, and do the laundry for all towels and sheets. We also check and clean the guest bath regularly, handle all trash disposal, and provide amenities such as TP, shampoo, soap for the entire duration of the guest's stay. 

If I were the guest I know I wouldn't want to pay weekly cleaning fees so that hosts can clean their own home. It seems so petty to add so many charges on top of the nightly rate. 

I've always viewed cleaning fees as a way for hosts to be able to host 1-nighters without losing money. Not the actual cost of cleaning.

@Allison60 I agree.  I actually don't want long term guests, but if anyone wanted to book for a month I would require that they have my housekeeper come in every week to clean.  No matter what anyone says about how clean they are, a place needs to be cleaned every week to keep the wear and tear to a minimum.  

@Jessica-and-Henry0, my cleaning fee is the actual cost of cleaning.  When Airbnb pays me, that fee goes straight to my housekeeper.  I live nine hours away from my house, so it's not likely I'd be able to clean it.

@Allison60: We have long term guests often but never even thought about charging more. We don't go in there and clean on a weekly basis or anything so I'm not sure why the extra charge. We clean and prep the same way if someone was there a month or two nights as we do not use a housekeeper. In our experience the shorter the stay the more messy people are.

wir haben hin und wieder Langzeitgäste. Wir geben 30% Rabatt auf Langzeitbuchungen nach Absprache und Situation auch weniger. Dafür sind die meisten Gäste sehr dankbar. 

Ich teile Ihnen bei der Ankunft mit, dass ich Ihre Privatsphere achten möchte, was mir auch wichtig ist, biete aber auch die Putzoption an. Bislang hat  noch kein Langzeitgast die Putzoption gewählt.

Handtücher und Bettwäsche je nach Bedarf (14-tägig) biete ich zum waschen an. Die Gäste kommen mit Ihrem Körbchen, ich wasche die Wäsche und stelle sie dann nach Absprache vor die Türe. Das hat bislang prima funktioniert.

@Christine2  Wir machen das Gleiche. Die meisten Gäste wollen bislang keine wöchentliche Reinigung. Eine Ausnahme sind Chinesen, die jeden Tag putzen wollen.

We do the same as Christine, but so far nobody wants weekly cleaning. Exception to this is Chinese guests, who sometimes ask for daily room tidy and touch up cleaning (which we offer for an extra charge).

I too would like to see an option to add at least bi-weekly cleaning fees to long term bookings.  I want to keep my property up to my standards of cleanliness, and in order to keep bathrooms especially clean, I want it done on a regular basis and done right.  Most of our long term stays are tradesmen coming to the area to work 4-6 weeks.  They work long hard days and cleaning the bathroom isn't high on their list.  I would like to have fee added in so they know ahead of time what the fee is and it is included in their booking.
