Dishwasher & Washer vs Washer and Dryer?

Hi guys,

I am listing a property in March and have space for 2 appliances but am not sure which add the most value (or are the least trouble 🙂 )

Options are:

  1. Washer only
  2. Dish washer only
  3. Washer and separate Dryer
  4. Washer and Dish washer

The building will also have a paid laundry service with washers and dryers.

It is a small 1 bedroom but has a full kitchen.

Will probably only sleep 2-3 people (main bed plus sleeper couch)

Want to deliver a great guest experience but also not make life too difficult for myself or cleaners.

Thanks for all your help!!

Tash

@Natasha221 - personal opinion, skip the washer and dryer all together, especially if there are options in the building for doing laundry. Don't skip the dishwasher - not everyone is very fastidious about handwashing.

Co-hosted a space over the summer and the owners did not want guests to use the washer and dryer (but it was in the house).  People staying for the weekend wanted to wash clothes for some reason?!  We had MULTIPLE requests from people who needed the laundry for children's clothing and it was the biggest complaint - even though it wasn't listed as an amenity - that people couldn't use the washer and dryer just because it was THERE.

Thanks guys, really appreciate you sharing your experiences xxx

A dryer will cost you money! Especially if one T-shirt or a pair of jeans are rotating to dry for ages.......

Just ensure you have a collapsible ( portable clothes airer and some pegs available. If they want to handwash, or use the washer in the building, they can then hang the items in the apartment.

Hello, all of them are equipped in our house. Dish washer is highly recommended, Washer not bad, Dryer not needed.

Dish wash: Host can put dishes guest left after check-out into it and it enables host to do other housework. Also it washes better than handwash. Some guests who know how to use it will be pleased because of no need to wash dishes with hands.

Wash: Households will be pleased, especially in summer. But you can say 'please go laundry service.' That is enough, I think.

Dryer: Time consuming, utilities are more expensive, can dry in the sun instead, I think.
