A lot of guests ask me for directions and phone numbers even though it is clearly located in the house manual. I was under the impression that the house manual gets auto sent to the guest once the booking is finalized. Is that not the case?
They need to print their itinerary. Send them a gentle reminder to print and bring.
The short answer is yes, it is included at the end of the email with their reservation confirmation. Unfortunately, this email is sent immediately and most guests forget that the instructions are there when they're getting ready for their (often a few weeks or days later).
Since I too get these questions, I've prepared a write up that I have saved on my computer and phone, so when a guest asks me how to get into my unit or where to meet, I just cut and copy into the message. I've also printed out the house manual and leave it inside my home, so a guest cannot claim they weren't aware of a rule.
Many guests told me that they have never received those informations, maybe there is a bug in the system.
Anyway Airbnb should improve this, by sending it with a clear message when they book, but also sending it again, via message maybe, the day of check-in.
Lots of guests (and hosts) don't read. I send them a reminder to scroll down their booking confirmation for my guest book which has my address and transport directions a few days before their trip.
And that if there is anything they want to know in addition to let me know.
I remember that as guest I have never found the house manual instructions in the confirmations email of Airbnb, I am sure of it for at least one time.
