First Time User - Feedback question

Hi quick question - am a host in Scotland and on New Year's Eve we had a last minute booking. Guest was very nice, stayed one night but registered 2014 and was her first use,  she then said she didn't think she'd leave a review as she didn't tend to do that - perfectly happy with us and accomodation but we then obviously lose a feedback and this counts overall - although we asked her to try she hasn't - is there anything we can do as this counts against us in a way as not getting feedback, but we are seeing this more with one night stays as they are forgetting to leave feedback.

Hi @Colin20 you have the most lovely listings and 226 x 5* reviews to make everyone on here want to know your secrets!

Some guests don't feel the need to review- if you've stayed recently as a guest you'll know that the process for guests is rather labour-intensive.

Guests also don't know that we need a certain % of guests to review us to maintain status either- and that does need to change, as we have limited to no control over if guests want to review us!

I can't see the occassional missed review having a negative effect though, but I think I am sutting at 98%.

I don't know what you do, but I always tell guests when they are checking out that I will leave them a positive review (if it's been a good stay!), and as soon I have checked their room and the review window opens I leave that review- it then triggers them to want to know what I have said and therefore they have to leave one too.

Other hosts have various different approaches and I am sure they'll tell you here what they do.

Paul 🙂
