Guest cancels halfway into a long booking.

As a host would you waive the one month penalty fee to a guest who leaves half way through a 3 month booking?

 

I had a guest reserve for the summer months who was visiting his new girlfriend who lived my area. They split up and he left 7 weeks into a 14 week booking. Normally a guest can be penalized a one month fee but there is an optoin to waive it so I did. I had more reservations but didn't make the same amount he had reserved for. Did anyone have any experience with a situation like this?

@Rhona0 Why not offer to refund him any nights you sell to the same value?
