I think I have the guest from hell. She is new to AIRBNB, a friend opened her account, and she booked 30 days. I have so much drama, damage to property, fighting, both physical and verbally, disrespect to all rules and other guest. Anyway, they have left and yesterday I received various mail in their name. I do not want them using my address as their own resident. I have connected both of the girls, one went back home, and the other hasn't responded. I believe some of this mail is relating to a car accident that occurred this month. I wrote on the letter 'return to sender'. Should I be calling the insurance company and let them know about this situation?
Having this long term tenant has been the first and last. My booking window is not max 7 days. If someone wants more days they have to do another reservation. I have spent 3 days cleaning the room. I had to replace towels and linen. I also have a desk that will need to be refinished. 😞
yes, many hosts agree that Airbnb is not the best place to list long term. You can't talk to or meet a tenant in person and the tenant can't see the listing before booking, you can't sign a proper legal contract upfront, you can't collect real security deposit... it is just too risky.

also please take photos and flag their profile to Airbnb! This is a serious thing. I would hate to have insurance documents sent to a place I am staying for a month in only why would someone think it’s acceptabke to do this and not even ask for permission first?! SMH
@Dawn162 Sorry you've found yourself in this situation but good idea to change your maximum stay.
My maximum stay is 6 nights. I want short-term guests with breaks in between. I don't want a roommate!!
Sounds awful! I’ve had long term guests too, and some have worked brilliantly, another sadly has not leaving me in a similar situation to you.
I wouldn’t open any of the letters as that may be a criminal offence, it certainly is here. I would clearly mark it “Addressee does not reside at this address” and “Return to sender”. The senders will figure the rest out themselves I should think.
@Dawn162 In many US locations, anyone renting 30 + days has all the rights of a tenant and is not a short term guest. In that case, using your address would not be a legal violation but may be a violation of your house rules if you listed that rule. Just return to sender the mail and mention it long with any other observations in your review.
