I have a couple staying with me who like to go to the bathroom together and shower together. My house is small and the bathroom is a community one. Not to mention, this morning I noticed both seats to the toliet up and the guy did not bother to flush...!! I feel it is important to put both seats down when a co bathroom. And I am not sure I feel comfortable with couple in the bathroom together. Does anyone else deal with this or have suggestions?? I tend to be very open minded and flexible about most things. However, these are two of my pet peeves. I have dogs in my house! God forbid they had drank out the toliet!!!!
Do you have a sign near the toilet asking guests to place the lid down? If you don't - you can't expect them to think about it.
Also guests who shower together use less water, I'd be pleased if it were me.
Gina,
I'm not sure what the issue is with a couple being in the bathroom at the same time. My husband and I occupy the bathroom at the same time daily while getting ready. Often one of us will be showering while the other is shaving, primping or doing their business if it can't wait. The bathroom in our last house looked like a duplicate of the pink one in your listing! This seems completely normal to me. After so many guests and 119 reviews, I'm surprised you haven't had guests using the bath at the same time before now.
Something to think about with regards to the toilet up and the co-showering - where are the guests from and are they environmentalists? In water conservation areas like much of California there is a phrase: "If it's brown flush it down, if it's yellow, let it mellow." so it may not occur to them that flushing is necessary. Co-showering is better than guests who doen't shower at all in the name of water saving.
Communication is always the key when something is bothering you.
Good luck!
Alice
Keep it light. I agree with the other comments re: showering together. What possible harm can that be? In fact, as cited, they may use less water - and they can wash each other's back - which is wonderful. As far as toilet lid open. It's really a minor nuisance in the grand scale of things. A humorous note (or illustration) above the toilet tank might help but be thankful that they lift the ring to pee. Could be worse eh? Maybe print this. Sends the message.
I may be a little hypersensitive with the showering, so my apologies. Was not sure if this was something normal for others being it has been an unusaual thing for me.
As for the seat up and not being flushed, it is bothersome. I have two rooms I rent out at the same time and they all share the bathroom. The guests are American and from Florida. Granted there may be a water scarece there, we do not have that issue here. I did politely request flushing the toliet after every use and said nothing of the showering. They said okay, but when I went to the bathroom to clean for my next arrival, it was not flushed... really??
Sometimes you get people who just see things differently - just grin and bear it unless it's a long term stay or a serious issue.
Otherwise, stuff like that will drive you mad!

I really do think you should keep dogs out of the guest rooms. We have 2 dogs and they are never allowed in the guest bedrooms and shower rooms. Letting them in just makes the cleaning longer and harder.
I do keep the dogs out of the guest rooms. Unfortunately, guests continue to encourage the dogs into the rooms and leave the bathroom door open all the time encouraging the dogs to go in there also. I can only do so much. Even after explaining the prohibition of dogs going into the guest's rooms, they still do it. People will do what ever they want regardless of what I say. "Please shut the doors behind you when going outside," which again is totally ignored. I lost a cat one afternoon thanks to a guest not following instuructions. No matter how many rules I put out or explain, they are ignored. I work from home, so luckily most of the time I am able to keep things shut behind them. And if I do have to leave, I place all animals in my room with the door shut.
A good way to keep dogs to where they need to be without closing doors is a babygate, you know the kind they use as stair safety for toddlers.
THE DOGS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM... Why are you all concerned about where my dogs are????? My issue is having a guest who does not seem to know how to flush a toilet...???!!!!!
FYI I am a pet sitter. I have gates all thru my house. I take care of my dogs and clients. Any more responses, please make them towards dealing with the guest and not my dogs, thank you!
Thank you... Somehow it got lost in translation what my real issue is and all of sudden it was all about my dogs. I have great dogs! If you read my reviews, the animals are always described as well behaved and friendly. And no matter how many times I may say the rules, sometimes people forget or don't listen. But the not flushing the toilet when other people are using it is beyond my comprehension. I can overlook the showering, but not the used commode. That is just gross...
