Has anyone else noticed the new review format for hosts reviewing guests?

It's been simplified so much it barely exists...while guest reviews have become more detailed with vague categories hosts have no control over.

I don't see anything mentioned in "updates."  What's up with this?

I'm not perturbed by this new development for three reasons:

Firstly, I don't take much notice of thumbs up or down, partly because the numbers don't always tally.

I don't know the reason but I can only guess it's because Host neglected to tick either Thumbs Up or Down.

I don't know if it's manditory to tick in order to post the Review?

Secondly, far more significant is the content of the Reviews. .A negative review can relay a bad experience & spell out potential problems with the Guest (just as with the Host). Indeed,.Reviews permit a max of 500 word account which is ample for expressing one's displeasure and warning others.

The Response for both parties also plays a significant part in assessing prospective Guest.

Last but not least, I rarely let Reviews influence my decision whether to accept a booking. It's ultimately about my interaction with the Guest, and I'll take as long as I like or is necessary to decide. No Instant Book for me.

Ps: Another important factor as a live-in Host is that I predominantly focus on Reviews of Guest by other live in hosts than absentee hosts, because I believe the experience is vastly different.

I have just in this past couple of minutes done my latest review and the changes you mention have not got to this part of the world yet. This a screenshot of this latest review.........

I will await changes....once again with more trepidation!!

Cheers........Rob

@Robin4  It's pretty strange how they roll things out. You are still seeing the same review form, yet I am still able to view guest profile photos when someone sends an Inquiry or Request to Book.

Yes, I've just noticed these changes too. Also was caught out as you used to get to preview your written review before submitting them and could correct/ edit as necessary. Now you just click on 'next' and it's gone! Submitted!!

The new system does not allow you to leave anything blank if not applicable.... I had a guest who did not turn up, nor message me before nor after. i planned to give her 1* for communication & leave the star ratings for cleanliness & house rules blank, as she was not there .... but it would not let me proceed to the next page without checking all 3 star ratings. The old system DID allow you to leave parts blank.
