Host Cancellation

Host Cancellation

We have a cabin on the river (above the flood zone). We were hit this week with flooding rains that have washed out a portion of our road/walkway that leads to our cabin (this hasn't happend in 30+ years). We have guests that are supposed to arrive in 2 days. I contacted them earlier this week to give them a heads up, thinking we would have the area repaired by Friday, but it hasn't quit raining. What is the best way to cancel/reschedule? Do I offer a free stay if they are to rebook? Will we lose all of our superhost benefits and pay the fees?

@Brianna31 This kind of situation is what the Extenuating Circumstances cancellation policy was made for. Contact Airbnb and explain what's happened, and ask them to cancel on your behalf penalty-free. All the details on the policy are here:

They shouldn't have an issue doing it for you.

Really hope it stops raining and you can get back to hosting soon!
