Hosting in Bhutan

Hi, 

I am Tandin from Bhutan and I am a host in Bhutan. Hosting in Bhutan is a bit different than hosting anywhere else. I am just sharing this as an information to everyone who are interested to know about Bhutan. Bhutan has government regulations in place for the tourism sector and all tourist in Bhutan needs to be routed through a licensed tour operator in Bhutan with the exception of regional tourism from India, Bangladesh and Maldives. Therefore, what it means to an Airbnb Host is that your guests will be only people from your own country (Bhutan) or from India, Bangladesh or Maldives. This is a different scenario if you see the hosts across the globe where they can entertain guests from anywhere around the world. 

This is an interesting fact and I wonder if such a scenario is prevelent anywhere else.
