How to show your character in your listing?

Character.jpg

Hello everyone,

There are quite a few things a guest expects to find in a listing, a bed being one of them! But as a host, your listing is your home and so more often than not, you want to show a bit of your own character, your own style. It’s also important to create a good  balance so that you attract a wide variety of guests. So it can be tricky.

How do you show your character in your listing?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Lizzie

Wow, this is a great story @Emily352. As a music fan myself, this sounds intriguing! Did you find your guests would ask you a lot about your decor and why you decided to design it in this way?

La Scala Opera House was half a block away from my apartment. My only goal was to attract the largest number of opera lovers onto my house, @Lizzie. But in what way? Responding to their needs and desires with a decor entirely consistent with my goals.

Home staging. The noun version of the verb “to stage” means “the method of presenting a play or other performance, so I tried to stage a house for opera lovers.

The house becomes a theater, a big, emotional theater. Some candles, set up some atmosphere. A grand piano. The portrait of the greatest soprano: Maria Callas. An old costume on a store mannequin. Set designs. The “Dance of the Hours” from Ponchielli’s opera “La Gioconda”.

I was just trying to set a romantic mood. The emotions may be conveyed by offline and online images. I tried my best to make the opera lovers feel at home, attracting them with suggestive details, pictures, and pictures conjure certain feelings, like memory.

I was just trying to stand out from the crowd, to distinguish me from my competitors and a way to meet my music-lover’s needs was to raise my “offer”: oversized beds and a large shower box for plus-seized, chubby  tenors, a soundproof room with a piano so that opera singers and lovers can play and sing undisturbed without bothering the others, musical tour of La Scala Opera House with admission to the museum/purchase of the theater tickets etc.
