ID Verification

Hi

I had someone else take care of the airbnb (long story) and they did the ID verification, now I took over the page since it is my house (as I said, long story), and I want to add my ID but I cant find anything about the subject.

Does anyone know how to change the ID? I saw that if you remove your ID all of your future bookings cancel, does that count for Hosts? I have upcoming renters in my house and I do not want to change or confuse them with this.

What you read is correct. Changing ID changes everything and auto cancels your reservations. You have a couple options.

You can block out all future dates and start a new listing under your own account (the Airbnb recommendation) thus your future bookings will not cancel but you will also not receive future bookings on that listing.

You can set yourself up as a co-host on the old listing and continue it, but then if you try to change bank information you will need to contact Airbnb directly and they will tell you to do what I said in my first paragraph.

Your situation is not new. It happens anytime a property is sold too. With AIirbnb the new owners lose all of the goodwill that the property may have built up over time as well as the ratings and reviews.
