If I decline a listing, will those dates be blocked?

Hi there,
I have a pending inquiry which I have not approved because the potential guest is starting to creep me out with multiple requests to talk by phone or email outside the context of the site. Besides the fact that Airbnb blocks numbers, I don't feel especially comfortable with this, or see a reason for it, as I am always prompt to answer questions through the site. I don't get a good feeling about this guy, and would very much like to decline the inquiry, but it is for dates I am likely to find another renter. If I decline a request, are those dates automatically blocked?

as long as you haven't ticked ''block these dates'' box, you will not have a blocked calendar and nothing further will happen. If you decline often, they may disactivate your account but not if you only do it occasionally.

The dates shouldn't be blocked unless you request that. You can not only decline (do it within 24 hours) the request of the person making you uncomfortable, you can "flag" the account and report to Airbnb that they are trying to bypass the messaging system.
