Instabook travelers not airbnb community

My listing is one bedroom in my house. I have hosted close to 100 guests prior to turning on instabook and had a great time doing it. Since turning on instabook I get the feeling that I am bringing a different calibure guest into my house. Airbnb guests have a special pesonality trait that has made it fun to host. They are adventurous, outgoing, friends and genuinely good people. I feel like instabook draws a crowd that is cotrary to the point of airbnb.

Any suggestions for instabook filters?

Did you know that requiring a person be recommened by another host means they only require one recomendation?

I agree with you. I am one to descriminate but instabooking brings in alot of people that has conflicting personalities with host.

And if you turn off insta book then your listing don't show up.

@Jo-Anna1 whether you are on IB or not, your listing should always show up. If you don't have IB, maybe not on the first few pages.

I wrote the wrote the wrong thing.

What i meant to say is that I dont descriminate but InstaBook makes it difficult to get the right guests for your listing.

@Farah1, I think what @Todd-and-Reese0 was referring to was the option to search only for listings with instant book. Airbnb has made this the default when a guest searches, i.e. it is already selected. They then have to deselect it in order to see any non-instant book listings.

A lot of guests will simply not notice this as it's not that obvious. If they click on the Instant Book tab a little box pops up, which reads:

"This filter is on because there are tons of homes available that you can book instantly. You can turn it off to see more results."

So many guests are not going to turn it off and will therefore never see any of the other properties, including mine!

@Huma0 ah right! I am aware of this when I was trying to see my listing rank when I search as a traveler.

@Farah1 yes I also check my rank in the listings from time to time, but I have to disable the Intant Booking first. I think once it has been disabled, it will save that as your search preference for a while at least. However, I noticed when I looked yesterday that it had been activated again.

So many guests don't know the basics of how Airbnb works (e.g. that Airbnb charges them fees, that their money isn't going straight into the host's bank account etc.) so how may of them are going to realise this?
