To compare listings ranking on different platforms,  I just went to the airbnb website, not the app. As it sometimes happen when I'm on my Ipad, the first letter got gobbled up in the website address, so I went to irbnb.com. Guess where that took me? >>>>>>> to booking. com. haha! so the competition is right there.... well, come to think of it, the way Airbnb is going, maybe they should actually merge with booking.com. I see it coming. just curious now when I post this, if they bleep out the "other" booking site....

Nothing strange. Booking.com is a collector site... they dont do the direct akquisition as AirBnB...you cant publish your appartment at booking.com.

They just collect all internet available information and compete with all the others (you might even find the flat YOU are hosting at AirBnB there).

There are many competitors to AirBnB... some are similar "puiblish-here" sites like HomeAway and MANY sites like booking.com without own service.

You have the choice

@Michael477 , I know i know..... it was just a startling discovery to see that mistyping the airbnb website address by one letter took me to booking.com, that was all.
