Hi Airbnb community. I'm worried about a guest who did not show up for their night's stay with us last night.
This guest is a single woman in her late twenties, traveling along. She booked her stay about a month ago and we've been in communication since her initial reservation request so nothing lead me to believe she'd be a no-show.
I messaged last week to ask her to confirm her arrival time at our place and heard nothing, I then messaged again yesterday morning and heard nothing. Her contact phone number is also no longer connected (but then I'm not surprised about that as it was an Australian phone number and she's travelling on her way home to Britain).
There doesn't seem much we can do, but it just seems odd that this young lady has not shown up and if the worst has happened and she's in trouble I'd feel terrible if we didn't do SOMETHING.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks
Worried hosts
Hi @Leslie42, the payout for this reservation would not be issued to us until today, but we're presuming she's pre-paid. Only one previous review from an airbnb host (positive review) but that was from August 2015 in Australia so no way of tracking other stays. She may well have booked other airbnb's and not shown up if something has happened to her but there is no way of us knowing this.
Awe thanks @Judy45. We've had no 'disasters' as such here that would warrent the Red Cross' involvement. Maybe they might still be able to help though. Will keep it in mind.
🙂
@Mike-And-Mo0 I would let Airbnb know. The guest may have an emergency contact set up on their profile, and they can try to reach the guest or the emergency contact to make sure everything is OK.
Hi @Ed-and-Hugh0, and thanks for your reply. How do I let airbnb know? Sorry, I find I go around in circles with the 'Help Centre' options sometimes...
🙂
Hello, I know how frustrating it can be to contact Airbnb! Here's a good place to start:

Good luck!
Hi @Peter124, tried that and just end up going round and round in circles. Frustrating!
Let them know via Facebook (the outline rather then any personal details) - they get back very quickly or call their helpline number - it show on the booking confirmation.
Hope she turn up safe.
Helen
Thanks @Helen3. We've place a message on Airbnb's Facebook page and will wait to hear from someone. Looked at guests booking confirmation and their is no helpline number (it just points us to the un-helpful 'Help Centre' web page). Perhaps because we live in little old NZ and their isn't a help desk here?
Thanks for all your help guys. By messaging Airbnb via their Facebook page, i was able to obtain a contact telephone number for someone at Airbnb who is now looking into locating our guest.
We really appreciate all your help and hopefully we'll have a positive outcome with finding our missing guest.
M 🙂
I hope she has already turned up at your place by the time I'm writing this!
