Hi fellow hosts! Has anyone noticed a change in how listings appear over the past few weeks? I was under the impression that certain criteria bumped your listing up closer to the top (Superhost status, enabling Instant Book, percentage of 5 star reviews, etc.) I've been a superhost now for almost 2 years straight, ever since joining Airbnb. I have 97% five star reviews, and I recently enabled Instant Book. The only thing I could not do was have an Airbnb photographer take the pictures since there are none in my area. My two listings always came up very early when I typed in my location. Now, they are much further down and listings with absolutely no reviews yet are coming up before mine. Even worse, listings are coming up early in the search that are nowhere remotely close to my location. I am in the Poconos of PA., in the Lake Wallenpaupack area. Listings are coming up before mine that are in a town in New Jersey (2 hours away by car), and New York state, like the Catskills which are an hour away. ????? Normally I wouldn't be worried about this, but business has suddenly just died. Compared to previous years at this time and for this weather, I am getting no bookings at all. Spoke with customer support twice this weekend, and tried some of her suggestions - like deleting some of my amenities (which doesn't make sense at all), and it just made things worse. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks!
I am now 45th in the list for Entire Houses in my area. There are places with lower than 5 star ratings, which I have, that are above mine. I don't understand how they can be listed before mine. I haven't had an enquiry for weeks now!!
I've have experienced the same thing, but there are older listing with out superhost status ahead of mine. Therefore I don't think it is all new listings. Has your views dropped also?
Also my husband found that they are analyzing the comments for key words. I offer a unique experience of a Victorian home and my excellent reviews don't always fit a specific form.
What are we to do about this?
