Why am I forced to give weekly and monthly discounts on Airbnb??

Because if I don't, my property will not show in the search results for anyone looking for more than a week stay.

Why??

Why am I not free to choose a low daily price and NOT give any discounts, yet still appear in the search results of those looking for a longer stay?

They may just still be better off staying in my house due to my lowest daily rate anywhere in a 100km radius.
