Post a Listing on Airbnb.

Hi,

I am new on Airbnb. Everytime when I want to post my apartment on Airbnb I get "Verify ID". Why I must to do that in order to list my property on Airbnb? Even the authorities always said that we shouldn't give our ID or passport or driver license anywhere.

It is there any other way?

Hi,

I have the same problem like you. My husband tried to list 3 properties on Airbnb but everytime he saw "Verify ID". We didn't found any other way to list on Airbnb without ID...we just post the properties on other websites. :).

@Maria-A-0 @MariaA0 Just like hosts want to know who is staying in their properties, guests want to also have assurance that the host is legit. Can't see why you should have an issue with this.

Not sure... I understand people in the UK reticent to send ID. They don’t even have an ID card per se.. Other countries are used to send ID for everything ... I am Italian but lived in Brazil, so used to carry ID and show it all the time..,

Also, to ensure that the property really exisits, that is is really yours?

In the same way that guest can try to scam, we have fake listings.

Would you stay on a place that was not verified? Would you take a guest that was not verufied? I would not.

@MariaA0, AirBnB probably requires hosts to verify a government ID because there have been instances of people using AirBnB listings to make money from stolen credit card information.

(It is one of the reasons why brand new hosts have to wait 30 days for their first payout.)

Yes there is:

If you are so concerned about not presenting your ID to AirBnB, you do not have to host on AirBnB. There are a lot of other places to offer your property for rent.
